Questions 1. What was the point of this class and what did you get out of it? I learned so much from this class and at first you think this class is just a class to chill. But really this class teaches you that even if you make any mistakes you should able to work with it. This class also taught me that you should be able to execute your ideas and not just give up on something. Also I learned that no idea is bad and you should turn it into something that you enjoy. There are many people that I can meet in art and have always been a pretty shy person so when there was only 3 people I knew I was forced to talk with other people but I am glad I did because I would not be able to meet the people I met before. 2. What problems might artist encounter as they plan make or share art? There are many problems that a artist might encounter such as while they are planing there piece is that they will have trouble thinking of an idea or you just have trouble putting down on paper. Or another reason would be if it is to support something you believe in but lots of people not agreeing with it. A problem you might encounter while making it is if you cant seem to work with the material for example in one of my projects it was to plaster my hand and I had some trouble with that because on the strips that I pre-cut I got some water on them and I could not use them again . So these are the simple things you have to work with so you can make your final piece the way you want it. A problem you might encounter while trying to share piece with others might be that people might not like you type of work. For example if you do sculpture other people may hate sculpture and like acrylic instead. 3. What is the warm up of sketch book assignment you learned from the most? My favorite sketch book assignment was make all the parts of the face such as the mouth and the nose. I was always really bad at drawing people in the start of the semester and now I am not the best but I have definitely gain some knowledge about drawing people. For the noses I used to draw they would be U's and for my mouths they would be a line and they would look like something a kindergartner would do no offense to kindergartners. But when I was taught to draw shapes instead of what I think what ever I am drawing looks like it turns out better. No the part of the face look like how they are supposed to look like but maybe a bit exaggerated. Art Criticism Process 1.The first step is to Describe the art work. And some questions you can ask your self are -List what you see in the art work, how would you describe it over the phone , what art elements, and what color scheme 2. The next step is to Analyze the art work .And some questions you can ask your self are -to list the different art elements and design principles such as texture line, value, color, Balance etc 3. The 3rd step is to Interpret the artwork. And some questions you could ask your self are - What is the mood, What ideas are represented and what is the story behind your piece. 4. The 4th step is to judge the art work. and some questions you can ask your self are - What do you think of the art work was it successful or not and why or why not Critiquing my own piece
The art work that will be critiquing is my linoleum block 1.Let me describe the artwork. I see different cuts in the linoleum. The linoleum block is covered in different colors of paint from many layers of paint to stamp them. Let me go through the different steps of this project. My first step was to think of an idea and that took sometime. I have always loves Star Wars and I picked to do Darth Vader. I then drew it out with the details as white and the broad spaces as colored in. Then I put it on top of the linoleum and colored on the back to put the imprint on the block. Then I took the blades and using the different types of blades I was able to carve the whole thing. One thing that learned was that if you push done harder on the block with blade more is cut out. Then after that I was able to put different types of paints on the stamp on transfer it onto a piece of paper. I used different colors that would contrast with one another like blue black red and purple. This piece was pretty successful because it turned out even better than I wanted it to. I wish some of the details would come out but the details were just to small.

For my final project I did something to support the family's of the Santa Fe shooting. My final project was nothing political and only showed love towards the family. The family has gone through a lot and need all the support they can get so to show love I plastered both my hand in to the shape of a heart and then placed them on to a black board. The hands are to represent putting our hand out to them and pick them of their feet. The plaster is used for when people are hurt and shows the pain the family has been through. I then shaped it into a heart to show that we will bring them out of their sorrow.
I used 4 mediums and 5 difference techniques. At first I put some scraps of paper that talk about cyberbullying and articles about cyberbullying. In the middle I put tissue paper that is dark colors that shows the sadness if you have been hit with cyber bullying. Then I drew a hand and I choses a hand because my whole piece revolves around the song Your scars are beautiful. I then put a layer of water color to add some color to the hand. Then I put stitches in to the hand to create scars. My word was cyberbullying and I talked about the different stages of cyberbullying.
I did 1 point perspective and I took a picture of the downtown area while I was going for a walk. The one thing that was hard about the project was when I put so much water or if I put to little water. The warmups helped me find more control with my brush.
